Corner Green is a Span development on the Blackheath Cator Estate in south east London. It was completed in 1959 and comprises 23 houses round a landscaped green. It is one of a number of Span developments on the Cator Estate designed by the architect Eric Lyons in the fifties and sixties.
Eric Lyons himself believed that:
Corner Green has survived (or matured) as the best of all the Span schemes. The layout had the simple idea of a central green pedestrian area and the ground formation and the planting used strong shapes to underline the functional use of space and it looks good even in winter.
